Hi. I’m Kim. It’s nice to meet you! And, I’m humbled that you want to learn more about me. So, where to begin?
Yikes! I’m Labeled, But It Fits
Well, if I had to describe myself, I’d say something like this, “I’m a cynical introvert by nature who prefers to be behind the scenes as much as possible.”
Okay, let me rephrase that by saying I am a recovering cynic and consummate worrier who is leaning more into her faith and the higher powers that be.
Sometimes You Have To Step Outside Of Your Comfort Zone and Know That Everything Will Be Okay
I’m proud to say that I’m pushing myself outside of my comfort zone and it scares me. But, I’m doing it anyway, because what I’ve learned about myself is that I need accountability. And, I can’t think of a better way than to share this place with you.
Paying It Forward
And honestly? I’ve discovered some seriously good encouragement and inspiration when I really needed it most. Just as importantly, I keep discovering and learning more. This is why I am compelled to share it all with you.
More About My Personal Life
Okay, so you’re probably wondering more about my life. Well, I’m a wife and mother of two grown sons who have flown the coup. And I miss my boys so much, but I’m freaking proud of the men they have become.
If you missed it, I already admitted that I typically think negatively about things first, so I must work hard to infuse positivity into my world. My perspective is that of a person of color who fights lots of uphill battles for success and happiness.
Success Has To Be Measured On Your Own Terms
Okay, some may consider me successful in my career due to my job title and earnings. You see, I lead other leaders, but not without the challenges associated with being a person of color alongside people who don’t walk in my shoes.
Have a Great Partner Along For the Ride or Go It Alone
On a more positive note, my husband rocks and is the most positive person I know. Yep. I was smart enough to marry my direct opposite.
Fight For Your Happiness. You’re Worth It
When the going gets tough, I’m a fighter; hence the subtext in the title. And, I’m extremely resilient – something I didn’t realize until recently. Thank goodness, I’m learning to count all of my blessings and find the positive in all things.
This Keeps Me Sane!
I love inspirational, encouraging, and motivational words! Over the years, I’ve leaned into the wisdom and uplifting power of words to fuel me.
My Focus for a Happier Better Life
My personal finances! I am appreciating the power of budgeting, planning, and good spending habits. I need security, people! Therefore, being financially solid is critical for me. I believe it doesn’t matter how old you are or where you are starting, you have the opportunity to take steps to put more cash in your pocket and bank account.
Without This You Can Do Much
My health! I am a firm believer that food is medicine or poison. Take your pick. So, healthier eating is a critical goal, as well as losing weight. You would be shocked if you realized the impact on you physically, emotionally, and mentally.
It This Isn’t Right, You are Screwed!
My mental well-being! Whoever said you are what you think is right. The scary part is that there are so many factors trying to influence your thoughts and beliefs that it’s chilling. Hence, I’ve decided to pay closer attention and guard myself. I refuse to give away my power in this area, instead, I will be very stingy.
You’re Either Growing or Going Backwards; There is No In Between
My personal growth! I love to learn and take action, but I’m not consistent. I have to do better because I know that my life’s quality will only be what I put into it.
Nobody Can Do You Better Than the Original!
Being authentic to myself and others! This mostly is owning my own truths and staying true to who I am as a person, despite the challenges. Also, I’m one of those pesky people who cannot stand behind things that I don’t believe in. I also have this crazy sense of fairness and become outraged when I think I’m wronged, or others are wronged.
Appreciate the Important Things or Your Joy is Temporary!
Appreciate everything more! This includes my family. They are terrific. I have so many blessings to count every day, and I’m learning to keep score.
You Reap What You Sow In All Areas of Your Life
Anyway, you get the drift. I have career goals as well. One day I will share them with you. But this is a great start for getting to know me and what I’m about.
Your Journey Is Much Easier With a Friend!
My hope is to continue my journey with others. To pay forward what I learn and discover. Giving is a great way to build more positivity and I plan to take advantage of this fact as much as I can.
